This SMS Privacy Policy explains how Structured, Inc. (“Structured,” “we,” “us,” “our”)
collects, uses, shares, and retains information in connection with SMS/MMS text messaging for
customer support and service outage alerts (the “SMS Program”).
1) Scope of This Policy
This policy applies to information processed when you:
- Text Structured for customer service, and/or
- Receive automatic service outage and restoration text notifications at a mobile number
you provided to Structured.
We do not use SMS for marketing or promotional messaging.
2) Information We Collect
When you use the SMS Program, we may collect:
A. Identifiers & contact details
- Your mobile phone number
- Name and/or account identifiers (if you provide them or they’re linked to your customer
account)
B. Message content & interaction data
- The content of messages you send to us and we send to you
- Date/time of messages, delivery status, and read/receipt signals (if available)
- Opt-out requests (e.g., STOP) and help requests (e.g., HELP)
C. Device/network information (limited)
- Carrier information and mobile network metadata associated with message delivery (as
provided by carriers/our messaging provider)
D. Customer support context
- Information you choose to include in texts (for example, service address details or issue
descriptions) - Notes or records created by our support team related to your request
Sensitive data note: Please do not text sensitive personal information (e.g., passwords, full
payment card numbers, or highly sensitive identifiers). SMS is not always encrypted and may not
be secure.
3) How We Use SMS Information
We use SMS-related information to:
- Provide and operate customer support via text
- Send service outage notifications, restoration updates, and related operational/service status messages
- Verify, maintain, and document your communication preferences (including opt-out
requests) - Troubleshoot, monitor, and improve service quality and message deliverability
- Protect against fraud, abuse, or security incidents
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms/policies
4) Legal Bases/ Consent (Summary)
Where required by law, we rely on your consent and/or our legitimate business interests to:

These providers may process SMS data on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and
security obligations.
B. Legal and safety disclosures We may disclose information if we believe it is necessary to:
- Comply with law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or lawful government request
- Protect the rights, property, and safety of Structured, our customers, or others
- Detect, prevent, or address fraud, abuse, security, or technical issues
C. Business transfers If Structured is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing,
reorganization, or sale of assets, SMS-related information may be transferred as part of that
transaction, subject to standard confidentiality protections.
No selling for marketing: We do not sell your mobile number or SMS data to third parties for
their marketing purposes, and we do not share your number for third-party marketing.
6) Data Retention
We retain SMS messages and related records for as long as reasonably necessary to:
- Provide customer support and operational communications
- Maintain accurate opt-in/opt-out and compliance records
- Resolve disputes and enforce agreements
- Meet legal, regulatory, accounting, or auditing requirements
Retention periods may vary depending on the nature of the communication and applicable law.
We may de-identify or aggregate data where appropriate.
7) Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect
SMS-related information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure,
and SMS is not guaranteed to be encrypted end-to-end.
